Digital Drawing

I have created a couple of digital artworks for no other reason but to have the experience to advise my students if they have questions on the medium.

Bullfrog Digital Drawing

This was a fun project at our school. My part was digitally drawing the bullfrog for the license plate.

Going For A Swim

One of my completed digital paintings created on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil in Autodesk Sketchbook. I love the ability to create and work in layers. It makes editing sections of the artwork so easy. To me, the thought process for the artwork feels exactly like making a regular painting, but using different materials.

Iwo

My grandfather was a Navy Seabee who fought in WWII. Although we wasn’t a Marine, he was in the South Pacific during the war. On my many 8th grade Washington DC trips I participated in, we would go to the Iwo Jima Memorial. I loved seeing that gigantic sculpture and just imagined being there on Mount Suribatchi as that flag was being planted. This drawing was made with an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil in Autodesk Sketchbook. I consciously tried to use the charcoal setting to mimic a charcoal drawing.
