Ceramic Clay

In this section, you will see my various ceramic projects that I have created and used as examples in my classroom. You can also view some of my clay videos I made for instruction in the “Instructional Videos” section of this site.

Hand Built Clay Sculpture

Michelle and Kendall

A large, hand built sculpture mostly made of clay coils. It stands around 12” high.

Maquette for Michelle and Kendall sculpture.

This sculpture is a small maquette of the final “Michelle and Kendall” sculpture. It stands around 2” high. In some ways, I like this version better than the final.

Slip Mold Containers

Cupcake Cups

This set of “Cupcake Cups” was created using a plaster slip mold that I created. After the slip was casted I added the cupcake details.

I designed the cups to nest inside of each other for storage.

Kid Sippy

Using the same plaster slip mold with different sculptural attachments.

Wheel Throwing

Simple Cups

My goal here was to create a very clean, simple cup, with a smooth and straight side. All three were thrown on the wheel.

Containers for storage.

These wheel thrown containers were designed to hold art supplies. Here I was experimenting with the shape of the container to acomodate a group of Sharpie markers.
